I checked the driver, installed exactly the one that my processor needed, downloaded it from both the hp site and the Intel site, but that did not help. My operating system is Windows 10 Pro, build 18362.175. When you enter windows 10 in the display settings, then in the additional display settings, when you click on the "Display Adapter Properties" button, the inscription "This installation package is not supported by this type of processor" appears. When using the hp omen 15-dc1018ur laptop, I got a problem. Business PCs, Workstations and Point of Sale Systems.Printer Wireless, Networking & Internet.DesignJet, Large Format Printers & Digital Press.Printing Errors or Lights & Stuck Print Jobs.Notebook Hardware and Upgrade Questions.But it never works well, because I usually need to install a new software, and the nvidia update comes together.
Avoid using sudo apt upgrade for a while.Once I am able to log in on my PC, I try to use a different version of nvidia card via Software & Updates -> Additional Drivers.Last week this alternative didnot work, and I had to do a fresh install on Ubuntu.Like the screen below (this is an old photo): I then select advanced options for Ubuntu and try the different kernel versions. When it happens, I need to force to shutdown via power button, turn on again via power button, and then appears to me the GNU GRUB black/white screen: When I try to turn on my PC it gets stuck on Ubuntu logo screen.When I run sudo apt upgrade and there is a driver of nvidia on the list, usually some problem occurs later: I tried to put it on hold, but I couldn't find the name of Nvidia driver package. What I want to do is to prevent any update of my Nvidia graphical card. I saw this similar question with no definitive answer.
